Rate of Pay: The salary range for this position in East Lansing, MI is $87,600.00 - $157,700.00 per year and this role may be eligible to earn incentive compensation. Duties: Responsible for creating and designing new project test plans to qualify the contents of project requirements and functional specifications; designing and testing cases listed in the project test plan; improving test specifications by analyzing the root causes of technical issues, and developing testing solutions for those root causes; creating and applying new approaches as necessary to improve the productivity and efficiency of testing; acquiring customer inputs for project testing purposes; serving as technical lead in guiding junior engineers; working on complex projects.
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 36 months of experience in the job offered or in a Project Test Engineer -related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 12 months of experience in the job offered or in a Project Test Engineer -related occupation.
Position requires experience using the following:
1. Participate in all stages of development cycle by developing a test plan, validating new features and run automated and manual QA tests.
2. Collaborate with the development team with release readiness and defect tracking.
3. Experience using industry CAE/CAD tools in mechanical engineering projects
4. Working with common test case management systems such as testlink or Testmo.
5. Using Jira or other task tracking and Agile methodology tools
6. Working with Windows and Linux operating systems and command line and GUI environments.
7. Write up complete bug reports for discovered defects and validate resolution.
Telecommuting within commutable distance permitted. [Hybrid role]
