Our team provides the internal social coding platform code.siemens.com and its eco-system to over 50.000 people within Siemens. You are a recognized leader in the global Open Source community and will coach and lead our developer community towards an Open Source collaboration style. You become part of a premiere team of 10+ highly skilled people. We use modern APIs, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, containers and many other technologies as part of this growing eco-system.
Your new responsibilities
· Coach and guide the 50.000 developers across all organizations (Business Units, Corporate Units, etc.) on the Open Source way of working and related tooling
· Influence major strategic decisions at Siemens regarding implementation of Open Source culture and tools
· Enhance, improve, and maintain the code.siemens.com ecosystem with respect to tools, features, APIs, LLMs and documentation
· Contribute towards strategic Open Source Software projects on behalf of Siemens
· Implement API thinking and guide developers on APIs and generative AI
· Make sure developers can work from stable devices (e.g. Windows, MacOS, Linux etc.)
Your skills and experience
· Recognized as an established Open Source contributor or maintainer within well-known projects
· Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or in related fields and/or equivalent working experience
· 10 years of experience in developing and analysing complex distributed systems
· Proven track record of shaping the culture regarding Open Source within a multinational company
· Strong cybersecurity mindset and understanding of typical attack vectors
· Open-minded, cross-silo thinking, agile
· Deep knowledge of Linux, CI/CD and multiple programming languages
· DevOps experience (containers, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible) is a plus
· Strong communication skills (teaching, coaching, or technical-writing experience is a plus)
· Fluent in English (German is a plus)
