We're looking for a Product Owner to join our Brightly team in Cairo, Egypt.

As a Product Owner, you will play a key role within an agile team, ensuring that the product vision and business strategy laid out by Product Management are executed to drive growth. Your focus will be on transforming product roadmaps and backlog items into high-value solutions, which you will implement alongside development teams using agile methodologies.

You will be joining the team responsible for Brightly’s Stream application, a cloud-based sustainability solution aimed at optimizing energy usage, reducing waste, and minimizing carbon footprints across property portfolios. Stream collects utility data from North American utility companies, meters, and building automation systems to provide insights into building operations and emissions. It also simplifies data submissions to industry and regulatory bodies, assisting clients in achieving green certifications and benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop solutions to market challenges identified in Product Management’s roadmap.
  • Collaborate with agile teams to fully develop solutions through story breakdown and agile ceremonies.
  • Communicate priorities and goals at the start of each sprint, aligned with release objectives, roadmaps, and timelines.
  • Participate in customer and market feature discovery to drive valuable solutions.
  • Maintain a well-prioritized backlog for the development team.
  • Serve as a customer experience advocate, working with UX/design, product counterparts, and Professional Services to create exceptional user experiences.
  • Execute Product Management’s business strategy in collaboration with agile development teams.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvements within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as information science, computer engineering, or computer science, with experience supporting technical products.
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner.
  • Proficient in backlog/roadmap management tools such as Jira or AHA!
  • Skilled in developing user stories and acceptance criteria while effectively communicating business value to engineering teams.
  • Strong track record of collaborating with engineering teams to ensure commitments are met and results are delivered.
  • Solid understanding of Agile principles and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage confidently across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and support decision-making with insights.
  • Experience influencing product development teams and aligning them with a shared customer and business vision.
  • Results-driven, proactive, and self-motivated work ethic.
