Then you are the perfect candidate to join our Software business as a Customer Health Data Scientist in our innovative data-driven customer success team.
Position Overview
You will join a newly formed data science team focused on creating a sophisticated customer health scoring system that provides immediate ROI by delivering critical insights to our Sales and Customer Success teams. Your primary focus will be designing and implementing the core algorithms and calculations that power our customer health scoring system.
In this role, you'll work alongside a Data Architect and BI Analysts to develop a robust methodology for measuring customer health, establishing meaningful warning thresholds, and creating insightful reports. You will be the key architect of our predictive models, ensuring they accurately identify at-risk customers and enable proactive intervention before churn occurs. You will also work to ensure your data sets are AI-ready with a robust semantic layer for generative and agentic AI use cases.
This is the perfect role for you if you have strong statistical modeling skills combined with a passion for translating complex data into business-relevant insights within a SaaS environment. You'll be applying advanced data science techniques to solve real-world customer retention challenges and drive measurable business outcomes.
This role will be central to establishing a data science field within our customer success organization. You will revolutionize how we measure, predict, and influence customer health across our SaaS portfolio.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop the core algorithms and methodology for our customer health scoring system
* Establish meaningful warning thresholds based on statistical analysis of historical customer behavior
* Create predictive models to identify at-risk customers before traditional metrics show signs of trouble
* Develop comprehensive reporting systems that communicate customer health insights effectively
* Develop a semantic layer for key data sets to allow consumption by AI applications
* Collaborate with the Data Architect to ensure the data structure supports sophisticated analytical models
* Work with BI Analysts to implement and operationalize your models and calculations
* Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns and insights in customer behavior
* Develop segmentation approaches to tailor health metrics for different customer types
* Continuously refine and improve scoring methodologies based on observed outcomes
* Translate complex statistical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for business stakeholders
* Document all models, algorithms, and methodologies to ensure sustainability and knowledge transfer
Work Environment
* This job is a hybrid role that requires you to be in the Siemens Pune office for at least three days each week.
* You must work according to the US time zones for at least three days each week.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field
* 4+proven experience in data science or advanced analytics roles, preferably in a SaaS environment
* Strong background in statistical modeling and machine learning algorithm development
* Advanced Python programming skills with experience in data science libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, etc.)
* Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms as well as dbt
* Proven ability to design and implement scoring models or indices based on multiple data sources
* Experience developing early warning systems or predictive risk models
* Knowledge of data visualization and reporting standard methodologies
* Understanding of SaaS business metrics and customer lifecycle dynamics
* Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences
* Strong problem-solving capabilities with a results-oriented approach
* Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in a quantitative field
* Experience working with customer success or retention teams in SaaS businesses
* Knowledge of Salesforce CRM or Certinia(or similar customer success platforms)
* Experience with Tableau Cloud or other advanced data visualization tools
* Background in churn prediction, customer segmentation, or lifetime value modeling
* Publication record or demonstrated thought leadership in relevant data science applications
* Experience working with global, distributed teams
